Justice: More Than Just a Legal Matter

When most people look at this card and see the woman sitting between two pillars, holding a sword in one hand and scales in the other, they think about legal matters. I bet you did, too.

But, It's not just about courtrooms and lawyers, though

. It's about balance, fairness, and the law of attraction. Ever heard that phrase, "What goes around, comes around"? That's basically the Justice card in a nutshell. Karma, you reap what you sow, as above, so below – all of that is about balance.

Picture this:

The scales? One side is your actions, your thoughts, your words. The other side? Well, that's where the consequences land. It's like a cosmic scale, always weighing things up. One side balances the other – fill one side with good stuff, the other has to balance with good stuff. Fill one side with bad stuff, the other side has to balance with bad stuff. Get the picture?

The pillars? Those bad boys are made of stone. They’re solid and grounded, unswayed. Justice sits between them. Again we have balance, but here it isn’t about the movement of filling one side of the scales and having the other side balance.  This is about the immutability of the law. It’s like gravity, you can’t fight it and win. The same can be said about the law of balance. It is what it is. Fighting it is useless, because things always balance out in the end.

The sword? That's about making choices. Every day, we make decisions that shape our lives. In the tarot, swords often represent thought and communication. Our thinking can fill one side of the scale, too. Are we filling it with negativity, doom and gloom, or poor me? The sword tells us we can cut those thoughts out and fill the scale with something better. The Justice card reminds us that we have the power to choose how we want to create our lives.

So, next time you see the Justice card, remember:

  • Be fair: Treat others how you want to be treated. Speak kindly. Be respectful. Have some compassion.
  • Be honest: With yourself and others. Journaling is great for that.
  • Take responsibility: Own up to your mistakes and learn from them. The key here, of course, is to not repeat them.
  • Be positive: Focus on good thoughts and actions. Make a gratitude list. Say thank you.

Now, granted, sometimes this card comes up regarding court cases and legal matters. That happened just the other day in a reading I did. But that’s really the exception.

90% of the time, this card is telling us to pay attention to what kind of vibe we’re putting out to the world, because that's the vibe we’re going to get in return.

The Justice card is here to tell us that we create the reality we live in.

Over 100 years ago, James Allen wrote a book called, “As a Man Thinketh”.  Napolean Hill wrote, “Think and Grow Rich” in 1937 .And in 2011, Brian Tracy, the classic personal development guru, wrote a book called “Change your thinking, change your life.”

These ideas aren't new. Why? Because, just like gravity, they're the law. And there are a ton of resources to help when it comes to creating your life with you thoughts, and that, in a nutshell is what the Justice card is all about.

The Justice card is here to tell us that we create the reality we live in.

So, the question is:

What kind of reality do you want to create?
